stripes
These lamps are made from float glass. The glass is cut into hundreds of stripes first. They are placed on the edge close next to each other, and put into the kiln to fuse. After cooling the thick panels are put back again into the kiln for a second firing to bend them. As the stripes are cut intentionally slightly wavy, the final pieces have wavy surface too. The panels are lit from the edge by led stripes hidden in an aluminum profile. All the glass panels are made from the same float glass, the different colours are because of the different led stripes (cold, warm, and medium white).
The glass panels are sit into a nice mahagony base treated with oil. The lamps are 43cm tall, the small one weighs 4kg, the big one 8kg.
